130 - Karey Fleming All That & A Bag of Chips (Podiatry in Nova Scotia)

Karey Fleming is the founder and force behind Health Walks Podiatry Clinic and Shoe Store in Nova Scotia, Canada. As well as owning the podiatry business, she is also a qualified Occupational Therapist and Pedorthist.

Her business has been serving the northern region of Nova Scotia for almost two decades and has become the one-stop-shop for everything foot-health related. Her motto is "Walk In, Dance Out".

In this episode, we discuss:

  • Why Nova Scotia is an awesome place to live
  • What 'all that and a bag of chips means'.
  • Podiatry versus Chiropody in Canada; it's like the wild west.
  • The problem with having an ego
  • Problems hiring podiatrists as a pedorthist
  • Why 30% of your success with a patient has to do with psychology.
  • Patients only care about getting fixed. They don't care about what you’re called.
  • Scarcity versus abundance mindsets.
  • The thinking behind opening a shoe store.
  • Hiring slow and firing fast - your team has got to be a good fit.
